Last New Bow!!

Hi Guys!

I can’t even wait I have to show you the new bow!

For the Pretty Princess

I just added the jewel for that extra touch 😉

Lined alligator clip, I like to show both sides 🙂

Remember yesterday when I said I wanted to see the korker bows made into a pigtail set? Well I totally tried it out on B-Rae and I’ll let you see for yourself how cute and fun it is!

Ah!! Cute Right?!

Something you should know:

I was simply heart-broken when a few months ago my dearest daughter decided she did not want bows in her hair…ever. I did not take this personally and I don’t think she disliked them in her hair. She was so fascinated by the clip part that she would always reach up, pull out her bow and play with it. Anyway! The other day when I started the bow sale I decided to give it another go…

I’m happy to announce that she left the bows in the whole time and I took them out before bed!! Yay! Now I’m putting bows in her hair everyday everyday! 😀 Don’t get me wrong the pig tails and pony tails are adorable but when I can add a bow I made myself… Chah!! Super Cute!

Another view of the korker pig tail set!

The bow sale is over now. But you can always order them at my everyday good prices 🙂

Remember that if you see something on my blog that you like so much you would like one for your little one, just shoot me a message and I can tell you the going price. I also do custom orders so just don’t hold out!

That’s all for now folks!

Much Love,

Very New Bow!

Hey Guys!

I had a super busy saturday doing some premature spring cleaning. (Laughing) I’m having a flashback about how I liked to play Cinderella when I was a little girl! Speaking of little girls I made a couple of fun new bows today that are just adorable. There are two sizes but the same bow.

Korker Bows!

With lined matching alligator clip of course 🙂

Korker Bows!

With lined matching alligator clip of course 🙂  Now these are the addition to the Bow Sale going on right now on Facebook @ Chelsea’s BabyFashions. You can also message me on here and I can do the transaction just the same. I hope that you like them! I got a great idea when I was making these, I want to make a mini version of these and they can be pig-tail bows. 😀 That would be so FUN right?!

Just a little note: If you see something on my blog that you are interested in purchasing, send me a message and I can tell you the going rate. You can also make special requests for custom orders. I am currently working on a custom order for a Sesame Street crib comforter that the customer was able to pick out the fabric she wanted online. I ordered it and will get the other needed materials. I gave her a  price quote and it was a done deal 🙂

Much Love,

So for todays Stay At Home Mom Segment, which is meant for stay at home moms and work at home mom. Let’s face it we’re all at home one way or another! I was spending way too much time on Pinterest the other night after B-Rae had gone to bed and I found this cool Pin. It’s just a little something cute but I want to share it with everyone because I am totally into stuff like this!

Bug Snack Bags!

Fun Snacks/Art Project! First you can have fun making these with or for your kiddo(s) then you can use them. They are simply embellished wooden clothes pins. Then you can pick two snacks of whatever you want to feed your kid(s) and do as shown in the picture. (I think its pretty self-explanatory.) How cute and fun right?! I have this in the Fun Time To Do List for B-Rae and I!

Pinterest really is awesome! If you haven’t gone and joined and given it a go, well then you should! I get great inspiration from Pinterest and am constantly doing fun creative things thanks to it. There is literally something for everyone on there, no matter what your interests are.

Okay folks that’s all for today! Don’t forget to pop over to my Facebook page and add me! Then go straight to the For Sale album to take advantage of the steal deals on bows going on only until Sunday!!!

Hey Guys!

So I had a crazy awesome weekend! I attended a baby shower that was so much fun and had 2 presents from my creations!! 🙂

She loved them and so did all of the other guests. Truly was amazing to see people’s reactions to my work. That is exactly one of the reasons why I am doing this! Making one of a kind products specifically to meet a mothers wants and needs. I was of course flattered to have someone want me to make something as their gift to the mommy to be.

My customer gifted a 4 pack of this burp cloth and I gifted the binky clips along with a bath set from her registry

Then to make my weekend even better! I had a custom order come in for a crib comforter! This mama wants a specific theme for her son but not only was she having a hard time finding what she wanted in stores she didn’t want to spend so much for a crib bedding set. She wants Sesame Street for her handsome little boy. After she asked me if I could solve this for her she even already found the fabric she wanted from an online fabric store that caters to kids patterns. This fabric is going to be just darling! I’ll show a picture of it in just a minute :). I ran right out and got the batting (the fluffy stuff inside blankets) and made the purchase. I ordered the fabric that she picked out online and it is on its way to me right now! As soon as I receive the package I will take this fabric into the store to get “Cookie Monster Blue” to match the comforter for the back side.

This is the panel for the comforter!

I can’t wait to get started on this order!! I decided that mid-week I will be putting on a sale in my Facebook storewide!! This sale will be on ear warmers and hair bows that are already on display if you’d like to check them out. I am currently working on some more to add to the selection right before the sale begins. I plan on running this sale for several days or until its sold out! So mark your calendars and don’t forget to jump right in and get the goodies before they’re gone 😉

That’s all for now folks!

I just love that one so much!

Hey guys!

So I’m super excited to announce I have had two custom orders placed this week. Yay!! One is a present so I won’t share that project yet and the other needs a price quote first so it is not a confirmed order. But still! I’m really happy that I have orders coming in. Soon… very soon I will be making premade items and setting them up in my upcoming online shop that you can go shopping in my store and find super cute awesome stuff for your kiddos. 😀

I wanted to share some very important machine sewing info with you today. I am sure like my Singer sewing machine yours will come with routine care instructions. If you do not have this however be sure to google the customer service number for your brand and ask them to send you some. This is super important to making your equipment last as long as possible and not need so many repairs in its lifetime. If you notice that your machine is sounding noisier than usual or the tension is off then you probably want to give it some TLC :).

Here are some generic Routine Care Tips: (From the encyclopedia of sewing)

With your machine unthreaded and unplugged from the power outlet do all of the following:

  • Remove stitch plate
  • Remove bobbin
  • Remove needle
  • Remove bobbin case if possible
  • Remove hook system if applicable

  • Using a lint brush, make-up brush, or soft tooth brush, clean all lint and debris from the feed dog and bobbin areas. Be careful about using canned air to blow out the lint, as it is difficult to keep from blowing some of it into the machine, which could cause future problems.
  • Brush each side of the upper thread tension discs (do this with the presser foot in the up position so the tension discs are open).
  • Use topstitching thread to “floss” on each side of the discs to clear any stray threads that may be down in the tension area.

  • Place one or two drops of oil in the hook area and any other place that your manual directs (most machines today need a minimum of oil). Use only the type of oil recommended for your machine; do not over oil.
  • Run a swatch of fabric under the needle several times to get rid of any excess oil.

  • Replace hook system and bobbin case if needed.
  • Replace switch plate
  • Insert a new needle

I borrowed this picture so illustrate my point 🙂

One of the best things you can do to prolong the life of your machine is make a yearly visit to an authorized technician for deeper cleaning and lubrication. Schedule it for your birthday month, so it’s easy to remember or during your vacation when you won’t be using the machine.

(From The Encyclopedia of Sewing by Donna Kooler)

This really is smart guys because sewing machines aren’t cheap! I am doing a cleaning on the whole sewing room today and decided I needed to give my sewing machine a quickie. I hope this is helpful information to you, it was for me!

Much Love Everyone!

I mentioned yesterday that B-Rae has gotten a cold. Now since she is 19 months I was at a loss for what medicine to get for her! We decided to do infants ibuprofen when she really seemed to be uncomfortable. Then the cough came! I found this great stuff by Little Remedies called Honey Elixir that is a natural way to soothe a cough. I like to think of it as a liquid baby ok cough drop.

Little Remedies Little Colds Honey Elixir soothes cough naturally and calms fiery throats. When it comes to children’s healthcare, Little Remedies steadfastly believes less is more and strives to make sure that each of their products contains just what is needed for fast, safe and effective relief–nothing more.

One night she got such an upset tummy that i was almost in tears! We happen to be visiting my parents house so grandma ran out to get some tummy medicine. She came across Gripe Water, which is by the Mommys Bliss brand. Safely and naturally relieves stomach discomfort and gas. This stuff works almost immediately!

Mommy’s Bliss and Baby’s Bliss Have United Under One Name!

Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water is America’s first all natural herbal gripe water supplement used to ease occasional gas and stomach pain often associated with colic, hiccups, and teething.

Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water is made with Organic fennel and ginger and is recommended by pediatricians nationwide as an effective herbal alternative to traditional medications.

  • Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water is pediatrician recommended
  • Organic ingredients
  • Effective in 5 to 20 minutes
  • No refrigeration needed
  • Now with twice the amount of the effective Organic ingredients than other Gripe Waters

I’m just sharing these with moms who may be as lost as I was when Bella got really sick for the first time. You are the person who knows your child the best and I know that everyone has their own views on this. This is just what I found to work best for us.

There is nothing better than having family and friends to consult when things come up with your new little one. So my sister found this for me and I havent tried it yet but plan on getting it for the medicine cabinet!

Day Timeand of course Night Time

Hey gals!

Here is going to be a quickie post because sadly I have a sick baby girl. I don’t want to get into it but let’s just say that the arm of the couch will never smell the same… 😦

I made some super cute little boy items this afternoon! This is just one of the burp cloths, the full set is four. These are the first boy binky clips in this style! I can’t wait for the little boy’s mommy to use these. (This is an order that was made recently.)

Burp cloths and Binky clips!

First off in light of the holiday tomorrow I have a fun video to share with you from my beauty guru on how to paint your own super cute Valentines Day nails! 😉 Check it out!

Sooo CUTE!!

I recommend subscribing to her blog and you tube channel because she makes really easy beauty tutorials.

Something very important about sewing is having a good work space! Depending on how serious you are you want to have some key things covered to have the best sewing environment for yourself. These key things are lighting, electrical power, flooring, dress form, notion storage, plastic boxes and bins and table top and chair.

Oh my! Let’s talk about this!

Lighting: This is very important because you have some tiny needle eyes, thread, and stitches that you are working with. With out the proper lighting you could not only strain your eyes but not do your best quality of sewing. If your chosen space already has bright lighting then maybe it is not necessary to add additional lighting. My sewing space has just an ordinary ceiling light that is not quite bright enough. So I added a task lamp and between that, the ceiling light and my sewing machine light I am good to go! Inspect your lighting situation and you can choose what will be best.

My additional lighting

Electrical Power: This is pretty simple! Make sure you have enough outlets to power all of your equipment such as sewing machine, hot glue gun, iron etc. If you only have one outlet than consider a power strip that is located in a safe spot. I have a small house hold extension cord that has several outlets to suit my needs.

Flooring: The only thing with flooring is that you may not be able to change what is already there. So just consider this. With tile or linoleum you probably don’t have anything to worry about. However if there is carpet on the floor you may want to be putting down a plastic office chair mat so protect your carpet from whatever your projects may bring. J

Dress Form: Not every body has one! But they are great if you get one in the size of what you make most of your projects. Being able to work in 3D rather than just eye balling is way better! Using a dress form can streamline the garment-making process.

Notion Storage: Get creative for this! The cool thing is you can customize your space to exactly what suits you! Remember that notions are supplies needed to complete a sewing project along with the pattern and fabric. Think about organization and easy access! I have a special place for buttons, tools, bias tape and elastic, ribbon and thread etc. Look into the plastic organizers at your local Target, Walmart or fabric store.

AWESOME ribbon storage!

Plastic Boxes and Bins: This is for everything else. I have assorted plastic drawer organizers where I keep office type supplies, fabric, patterns, etc. I even have a drawer full of scrapbooking supplies in there. I cannot stress how important organization is in being the best sewer possible!

Notions, office supplies, and hand tools

Fabric, patterns and scrapbook extravaganza storage! The top is my catch all lol

Table Top and Chair: Set your self up with a decent size table top to give you plenty of work space. Be sure you can sit at this table in a coordinating chair that is comfortable for long projects. You need to be able to reach your foot pedal and still be at the appropriate table height so you’re not straining your back.

With these key ingredients you’re ready to get started in your sewing space creating wonderful sewn master pieces!

Much Love!
